Over 40 years ago, Jennifer and her husband, Burton realized that being self-employed, they had no opportunity to participate in 401K or pension plans like their friends and family. This sparked an interest for Jennifer to learn to do this on her own. She called a mutual fund company and started investing in IRAs toward their retirement. This was the beginning of Jennifer's interest and desire to help folks reach their retirement goals.
Jennifer received her Bachelors of Science from Stephen F. Austin University. Having raised her two sons and ready to begin a new journey, she entered the insurance business. Soon, the love of her investing experience compelled her to join Lutheran Brotherhood, a full service financial non-profit organization, where she was required to do a full financial plan for each client. From there, Jennifer decided she could serve her clients better if the clients themselves were the driving force behind her business decisions, so that retirement planning could be made for each client independently. Jennifer formed her own company and Founded TriOak Financial Group, Inc.
She and her husband Burton manage their ranch and rice farm in the small town of Nome, Texas. They both love to travel, fish, hunt, bird watch, and of course, spend time with their only grandchild affectionately known as “Little Burton”.
